Biography

Mohammad Faisal serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Disaster Resilience and Engineering at Patuakhali Science and Technology University (PSTU), Bangladesh. His research interests lie in disaster risk reduction, community resilience, indigenous knowledge, and climate change adaptation, focusing on addressing the urgent challenges of disaster management and sustainable development in Bangladesh. Alongside his academic pursuits, Faisal has actively participated in various administrative roles at PSTU, including serving as Assistant Provost of Sher-e-Bangla Hall, Assistant Student Advisor, and Chairman of the Department of Disaster Resilience and Engineering.

Beyond academia, Faisal has dedicated himself to volunteer work within Bangladesh. Before assuming his current position, he served as a member of the United Nations Youth Advisory Panel (UNYAP), advocating for the perspectives of youth leaders on a national scale. Furthermore, he contributed his efforts to initiatives such as the SERVIR Himalaya Youth Forum and the Active Citizen Youth Forum of Bangladesh. His commitment to personal and professional development led him to complete the program at the Bangladesh Youth Leadership Centre (BYLC).
