Biography

I am Dr. Jakiul Hasan Jihad, lecturer in the Department of Microbiology and Public Health at Patuakhali Science and Technology University (PSTU), Bangladesh. I earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and a Master of Science in Microbiology from Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU), Bangladesh.

I am strongly interested in animal hygiene, veterinary public health, antimicrobial resistance and molecular microbiology. My research activities are directed toward understanding and mitigating the effects of emerging public health issues. My research experience in microbiology gives me the opportunity to address veterinary public health issues, especially those concerning antimicrobial resistance and microbiological hazards with a view that includes both animal health and public health.

As an academician and researcher, I am passionate about contributing to science through research acquiring knowledge and innovating in veterinary and microbiology. I aim to make a real‑world impact, on animal health, food safety and public health and to inspire and guide researchers who may contribute to these fields. It is also my goal to teach and mentor scientists and veterinary graduates helping them develop their professional careers.
