Project Description :

Funded by University Grants Commission of Bangladesh. The fiscal year 2019-20. Total Budget 3,00,000 BTK.

Women in coastal region which occupied 32% of the total land of Bangladesh produce different varieties of domestic vegetable and crops which are the primary food sources for major part of this population [1]. Women face many obstacles in conducting farming activities. One of the major impediments they face is lack of access to timely and appropriate information. Their access to quality information is further aggravated due to the conspicuous shortage of agricultural extension manpower. Social network is a major development in Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Social network represents an important platform for linking people with updated information and interaction. Women access to timely and appropriate information can be enhanced by using social networks which can contribute to family as well as national food security.
