I am a researcher in the field of production economics and financial performance. I am working on issues relating to development of agribusiness in developing countries especially in Bangladesh. My research interest include among others: performance analysis, financial econometrics, risk analysis, and econometric production analysis. Much of my research focuses on economic efficiency, financial performance and risk analysis of farms influencing the rural economies. In terms of methods, I prefer to use models for microeconomic and econometric production analysis and panel data econometrics in financial performance analysis.
I currently work as a teaching faculty member at the Patuakhali Science and Technology University, Bangladesh in the department of Accounting and Information Systems. Prior to that, I spent few years working as a trainee accountant (auditing) at the KPMG RRH, a Chartered Accountants farm in Bangladesh. Subsequently, I completed professional courses of knowledge level, application level and part of advanced level of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh.
Before gaining an interest and focusing on my current research in Production Economics and Agribusiness performance analysis, I was awarded BBA (Hons.) and MBA degree with major in Accounting from University of Chittagong in 2001 and 2002 respectively.
